It seems amazing that there are only 3 months left until the end of 2008. Although I’m committed to living consciously, it still seems that time moves a little faster than I would like!
But instead of bemoaning the fact that “time flies”, this is a good time to take stock of your year both personally and professionally. There is still time to implement changes or actions that can propel your success, not just now, but as you move into 2009.
Get clear on your goals and make sure that you have the necessary support in place to make them happen. I always recommend that my clients keep a log (or goal journal) and that they review it at least once a week. Why is this important? Because the more attention you place on something, the greater the opportunity for success.
My formula for achieving goals is: INTENTION (committing to your goal(s) + ATTENTION (living your goal(s).
Here a few steps to take if you want to reenergize yourself or have new goals that you’d like to jumpstart before the end of the year:
1. Decide on your goal(s)for the next 3-6 months. Be as specific as possible (Check out my previous article on setting SMART Goals at http://www.smartbusinessowners.com/top-10-steps-to-achieving-smart-goals/.
2. Create a goal journal. Write your goals down and create an action plan for achieving each one. You should be working this action plan and recording your results. This will help you make any necessary corrections to your action plan.
3. Set up your support structures. (Scheduling your activities in your calendar, hiring a coach, joining a mastermind group, share with a supportive friend).
There’s still time to improve your bottom line for 2008, so stay on task and you’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish in just a few months.
